Residual Heat Removal Experience Review and Safety Analysis: Pressurized

This report addresses events which take place either during cold shutdown with the residual heat removal system (RHRS) operating to remove decay heat, or during late stages of normal plant cooldown at the time when the RHRS is placed in service. Events which occur during these periods are often prompted or made worse by complex changing plant conditions and by concurrent maintenance operations. Reduced decay heat levels present during these events usually permit more time to respond to problems than is available during power operation. However since fewer automatic protective features are operative during cold shutdown, both prevention and termination of these events depend heavily on operator action. About 100 PWR events are presented that involved an actual loss or significant degradation in the RHRS while it was operating in a decay heat removal mode. One event discussed in this report indicates a potential sequence of events which could have led to core uncovering in 25 minutes (NSAC-24). Intelligent Cad, I: Proceedings of the Ifip Tc 5/Wg 5.2 Workshop on Inte

Current CAD (Computer-Aided Design) systems, as used in many industries, are able to manipulate geometrical shapes very successfully. However, some would say that CAD means ``Computer-Aided Drawing'', i.e. CAD is only a very sophisticated drawing board, never intended to assist the thought processes of the designer. Automated design systems do exist, but these are limited to specific products with only a few varying parameters. This book deals with ``Intelligent CAD'', the concept of a system that could assist designers throughout the design process, deal with any object, and be connected to any other information processing system, such as CAM. The research papers collected here are from designers, and from researchers in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.

Intelligent Cad, II: Proceedings

CAD systems are able to manipulate geometrical shapes but some would say that ``Computer-Aided Design'' is a misnomer, that current CAD systems help with drawing rather than designing. This book presents the latest research regarding the concept of intelligent CAD systems that assist designers throughout the design process, are capable of dealing with any object, and may be connected with any other information processing system (i.e. CAM).
